No More Plug-ins. Here's the Difference.

Microsoft Outlook and IBM’s Lotus Notes are often touted as being integrated with other front office systems, at least to some degree. Typically done by configuring off-the-shelf add-ons or developing custom-built applications, these plug-ins are only partial solutions. Plug-ins may automate some processes, but they don’t provide real integration with your front office system.

A plug-in results in two systems (e.g., Outlook and your front-office system) that increase cost and prevent the kind of automation necessary to drive faster placements. Integration from plug-ins is never as strong as using Bullhorn's Message Center to integrate any email or using Bullhorn Mail™.

Using plug-ins result in an inability to visibly capture all information for a given client record (e.g., emails, tasks, notes, appointments, contact info, documents, etc.) and relating them to each other. The user also needs to be logged into their Outlook or Notes email at all times to access it or for their team to use the information, a tremendous time disadvantage when you need to make a placement. Instead, the Bullhorn Message Center captures all your email traffic, is accessible from any Web browser and is available to the team immediately.

Also, plug-ins demand ongoing attention from users and IT staff, since upgrades and other changes to any one of the three components (your email application, your front-office system, and the plug-in) usually means additional maintenance to ensure the system works properly (e.g., reconfigure settings or reinstall a program).
